Slippery Slope

I got low expectations

I write out my frustrations

Sing away negative sensations

It works on some occasions

But not today

I can’t sing it away

This is not a game to be played

The hole is dug and the bed has been made

No turning back or backing down

I’m a clown with permafrown

In my own toxicity I drown

Throw in a rope

Hand grabs hold of fragile hope

True compassion helps me cope

Love stands firm on a slippery slope
