Leave the Jar

Trumpet flowers fall from the vine

I watch them blow away in the sunshine.

I can smell Grandma’s cooking and there’s a constant supper line.

Somebody’s already got out the white lightning moonshine.

Loosening up the spine

By the fire side

Jupiter and Venus are spinning with Mars

Or maybe I’ve already drank too much of this mason jar?

Get your shit, we’re leaving, honey the car!

We have to drive real far,

I’m losing arguments like I failed the bar.

Let’s get out of here and avoid another family scar.

She said, “Whatever, just leave the jar.”
